Upcoming session of Getting Started as a Freelance Translator

The next session of my online course, Getting Started as a Freelance Translator, starts on February 13. You can read the complete description or register for the course here. All of the course sessions for the past six months have filled up before the start date, so please register early if you’d like to join us!

The course session is four weeks long; using my book How to Succeed as a Freelance Translator, you’ll complete four projects–your translation-targeted resume and cover letter, your marketing plan, your billable hours and rate sheet and your online presence. Throughout the course, you’ll receive individualized feedback from me on all of those assignments. In addition, we do a 60-minute question and answer conference call every week, which lets you get your questions answered in real time. I also send out a recording of each conference call in the event that you can’t make the live session. All of the other course components are done by e-mail, so you don’t need to be online at a specific time and the course is open to translators in any country.

The course registration fee is $290 with a $50 discount for ATA members. While most students are in their first year or two of freelancing, experienced translators who want to build their businesses are also welcome! If you’d like to read more about the class or register, hop on over to my website. I’ll hope to see some of you in the course in February!
