Reply Daniel Steve Villarreal, Ph.D. October 20, 2015 My Like message on Facebook–on my personal page & also my American Older Brother page on “language stuff!”– Anything Corinne writes/does is SICK (“sick” = Undergrad-Speak for “cool,” “wonderful” and so forth!). I’ve taken her courses and read her books and her blog and Corinne rocks! What Holly Mikkelson–my Court & Medical Interpreting instructor at the Monterey Institute of International Studies–does for her field, Corinne McKay does for the business of translation. If you want to be a freelance translator or if you are one already, buy her book(s) and take her courses, hooah? Reply Corinne McKay October 23, 2015 Thanks Dan! When I need a PR person, I will call you 🙂 Thanks so much for your lovely comments. Reply ebodeux October 21, 2015 The third edition – you rock! Congrats to you. Very cool! Love the cover too! Reply Corinne McKay October 23, 2015 Thank you! I love the cover too! The medieval scribe had a good run but it was time to retire him 🙂 Reply Kelley October 21, 2015 YAY!!! Will there be a Kindle version available in the future? Reply Corinne McKay October 23, 2015 Yes, definitely. I’ll probably have to make some small changes after I go over the advance copies, but once the book is on Amazon, there will be a Kindle edition. Reply Catherine Christaki (@LinguaGreca) October 22, 2015 Congratulations Corinne, looks great! 🙂 Reply Corinne McKay October 23, 2015 Thanks Catherine! Reply Alison Penfold October 22, 2015 Good to know. I expect to be buying a copy this time around. Reply Corinne McKay October 23, 2015 Great, thanks Alison! Reply m October 24, 2015 Congratulations, Corinne! I’m so glad you made the announcement… I was about to buy the second edition. Any idea as to when will the third be available on Amazon? Reply Corinne McKay October 26, 2015 Thank you! I will have some copies for sale at ATA56, and then maybe two weeks to get on Amazon? Depends on how fast it filters through their system. Reply Daniel Steve Villarreal, Ph.D. October 26, 2015 Will this book be a textbook for your courses? Thanks! Dan Villarreal Taipei, Taiwan Reply Corinne McKay October 26, 2015 Thanks Dan! Yes, my classes will get the new edition starting with the November sessions. Reply Corinne McKay December 17, 2015 Thanks for your enthusiasm! Unfortunately it takes a long time (6-8 weeks) for it to get into the retail distribution network; plus it was delayed because of a couple of incorrect URLs that the Portuguese translator found in the Resources, and I hate typos… However the second edition has now been retired and the third edition is making its way to Amazon. If you are really dying to have it (again, thanks!) you can buy it directly from the publisher: http://www.lulu.com/shop/corinne-mckay/how-to-succeed-as-a-freelance-translator-third-edition/paperback/product-22482776.html Reply Leave a Reply Cancel reply This site uses Akismet to reduce spam.
