Description: “Corinne’s course arrived just at the right moment in my freelance translation career, at this crossroads where you know you have to move up in terms of client base, rates and overall income, but you just don’t know where to start or what to do.”
If you’re an experienced freelancer at this “crossroads” stage of your career, Marketing to Direct Clients will give you the knowledge base and confidence to find, market to and successfully work with direct clients. You’ll learn how to create a list of potential clients, how to identify the goals of your direct client marketing campaign, how to create a professional profile and marketing e-mail, and how to set your direct client rates. When asked whether this class increased their confidence in their business skills, every participant in the most recent session said, “yes.” A unique feature of my classes is the personal attention you receive: individualized feedback on your homework, and eight live question and answer sessions throughout the class (recording provided if you can’t attend live).
Here’s a preview of one of the course videos:
Registration cost: $380 ($365 for members of the American Translators Association).
- Four sets of weekly slide shows with audio tracks, to view/listen to at your convenience.
- Twenty “tasks of the day.” These might range from researching publishers for your target language, to learning about how to negotiate book translation contracts, to reading about self-publishing technology.
- Eight live question and answer sessions (recording provided if you don’t want to attend live).
- Access to an online discussion group (through Google Groups) exclusively for students in the course, where you can get individualized feedback on your tasks of the day.
